Subcommittee formed to study school calendar
The School Committee asked for volunteers to join its new subcommittee on the school calendar. The subcommittee will consider the question of accommodating various religious holidays that fall within the school year, while still meeting the legal requirement of keeping church and state separate. As currently planned, the subcommittee will have 10 members, including School Committee member Patricia Wenger, Superintendent Thomas Jefferson, two teachers, two students, and four members of the public.
