At 5:10 p.m., police responded to a report of a burglary at a home on Massachusetts Avenue. According to police, the burglar or burglars broke into a garage at the home and stole a rototiller worth $2,000 and a snowblower worth $1.050. Police say they do not have any suspects.
Wednesday, August 17
At 7:26 a.m., police investigated a single-car motor vehicle accident near the intersection of West Bare Hill Road and Bowers Road. The female driver was taken to Emerson Hospital and cited for speeding, police say. At 3:12 p.m., police responded to a report from a resident of a group of teenagers smoking marijuana at the scenic overlook on Prospect Hill. The group was legally smoking tobacco from a hookah, police report. At 9:22 p.m., a caller reported the sound of fireworks or gun shots coming from the area of Blanchard Road. Police investigated but report finding and hearing nothing. At 11:03 p.m, police responded to a report of vandalism at the Bromfield School. Someone had toppled the granite sign there, police say. The sign has been put back in place, but police have no suspects, they say.

At 2:03 p.m., in an incident police say they suspect is related to the one Wednesday night at 11:03 p.m., police investigated a report of vandalism in the Harvard Public Library parking lot at 4 Pond Road. Someone had spray painted the word “stop” overtop the word already on the sign, police say. The cost to replace the sign was $100, according to police.

At 10:21 a.m., the owner of property on Whitney Road reported people trespassing on the property, parking cars and leaving trash. The matter is still under investigation, police say.

At 11:20 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 5 Still River Road. Someone had backed his or her car into another in the parking lot of the Congregational Church of Harvard. There were no injuries and no citations were issued, police say.
Monday, August 22
At 8:57 a.m., a caller reported suspicious activity on Ayer Road. According to police, the caller said an unknown man was walking southbound and may have opened a mailbox along the road. An officer spoke to the man, who said he was walking to Worcester and just passing through Harvard, police say. Police did not delay him further. At 4:04 p.m., police responded to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Ayer Road and Mill Road. According to police, it was a head-on collision between a car driving northbound on Ayer Road and turning left onto Mill Road, and a car coming south on Ayer Road. The driver turning onto Mill Road failed to yield, police say, and was cited for marked lanes violation. The occupants of both cars refused medical treatment, but both cars had to be towed away, police say. At 10:32 p.m., police report asking someone who was parked at the Prospect Hill overlook to leave. The overlook is closed after dark.
