A Harvard man was arrested Saturday after, police say, he overshot the end of his Ayer Road driveway, drove down a hill, across a field, through a fence, and into a tree.
Gregg Carlson, 56, of 18 Ayer Road, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle to endanger, and driving with an open container of alcohol.
There were no passengers in the car and no one else was hurt in the incident, police say. Carlson was taken to the Nashoba Valley Medical Center and then transferred to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for broken ribs and other internal injuries, police say. His car was towed away from the field.
Carlson was charged at the hospital and released on bail.
