The Harvard Farmers’ Market will be hosting Great Dog Rescue New England at this Saturday’s market. One of the most anticipated and fun events of the Farmers’ Market season, according to organizers, Great Dog Rescue volunteers will be bringing dogs and puppies that need permanent homes.
Great Dog Rescue New England is an all-breed rescue organization based in Andover. Two of the several dogs coming to the Farmers’ Market on Saturday are Jada and Lucky.
Jada
Jada was found in June by a good Samaritan in Tennessee who stopped on the side of the road when she saw some teen boys throwing rocks. They were throwing them at Jada and her brother, who were terrified. The woman took the dogs to a rescue organization and soon it was discovered Jada was pregnant.
The dogs were both moved to New England, where Jada’s brother found a home and Jada was taken to a foster home, where she gave birth to five puppies.
Jada is very loyal and loving. She will come when called, loves to give a kiss and cuddle, and she gets so excited to see her foster owner that it looks as if she is dancing. Jada is 100 percent crate trained. She is also housebroken and fine around all other dogs. Due to the way she was treated, Jada is fearful of young boys. Hence, she would be best in an adult home where it is quiet and peaceful.

Lucky
Lucky is a lovable 18-month-old Plott hound who weighs about 43 pounds and is excited to meet his new family. Lucky was surrendered by his owner in Tennessee who could no longer care for him. He is an all-around great dog who loves people and other dogs; he’s a gentle soul with a sweet demeanor.
Lucky is currently living in a foster home with three dogs and three cats and gets along great with all of them. He is working on housebreaking and crate training and doing a fantastic job. He is very affectionate and would be a wonderful addition to any family.
