Toys for Tots drive at Murphy Insurance
Murphy Insurance Agency is sponsoring its annual Toys for Tots Drive and is reaching out to the community for donations to help kids and families in need this holiday season. Donations of new, unwrapped toys are needed for children up to 12 years old. This is the 64th year that the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program has been in action. Collected toys are distributed to children in local communities.
Donations can be made at 276 Ayer Road in Harvard or at any other Murphy Insurance location in Bolton, Groton, Hudson, Marlborough, Medway, and Mendon. For Toys for Tots gift guidelines and location directions visit dfmurphy.com/toys. Deadline for donations is Dec. 17.
DEAT information session
The Harvard Devens Economic Analysis Team will hold a public information session in Volunteers Hall in the Harvard Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. to discuss their recently issued annual report. The DEAT was established by the Harvard Board of Selectmen to project a municipal operating budget as if Harvard were to regain its historic portion of Devens, and to assess other economic conditions related to municipal operations. Members of the DEAT will summarize their analysis, answer questions, listen to comments, and take suggestions for future research. Residents are encouraged to read the full report prior to the meeting. It is available on the Town of Harvard website (www.harvard.ma.us). The meeting is open to everyone.
