Emerson Hospital Home Care is one of 22 home care agencies statewide which were recently recognized as part of the 2012 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of top home care providers in the U.S.
In its seventh year, the review names the top 25 percent of agencies nationwide. In 2012, those performance measures included quality of care, quality of improvement, patient experience, process measure implementation and financial management. OCS HomeCare, a product of National Research Corporation, uses publicly available data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Home Health Compare and CMS cost reports to create the HomeCare Elite list of agencies.
In addition, Emerson Hospital Home Care once again achieved a deficiency-free survey as a result of an unannounced, triennial five-day visit by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) earlier this year. Based on the census, the DPH was required to conduct 10 record reviews and 10 home visits encompassing nursing, medical social work and physical, occupational and speech therapy.
