Teen book groups start soon
The Harvard Public Library offers teen book groups that will run from Oct. to May.There are groups for grades 7 through 9 and 10 through 12. Meetings will be monthly, on Tuesdays, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., with meeting dates and titles to be announced. To register, call the library at 978-456-4114.
Halloween costume donations needed
The Celebration 2014 Committee needs donations of Halloween costumes and accessories to benefit Celebration 2014, a volunteer effort to provide a fun and safe environment for juniors and seniors after the prom. Donations will be accepted until Oct. 11 for the final sale at the Oct. 12 flea market on the grounds of the Bromfield School.
Parents discuss college
A parent-to-parent discussion about the college experience will take place Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Bromfield School library and media center. Parents of juniors and seniors are invited.
Student art needed for Fruitlands show
Fruitlands Museum invites middle and high school-aged students to submit two- or three-dimensional artwork for a juried exhibition at the museum, Jan. 11 through March 30, 2014. Works should be inspired by artistic traditions and landscapes of New England, such as historic folk art, portraits, and landscape paintings. Seventy-five works will be selected based on the composition’s quality and originality as it relates to these art forms, and some cash prizes will be awarded. The deadline for submission is Dec. 1. Book club welcomes members, drop-ins

Book group seeks readers
The Great Books discussion group will start a new book, “The Seven Deadly Sins Sampler,” for its Thursday, Nov. 21 meeting. Regional women’s group seeks new members
The Red Hattitude group promotes fun and fellowship for women aged 50 and older and welcomes new members from Harvard and surrounding towns.
