Civil weekend

June 13, 2014

Kudos to the many individuals and organizations who made Harvard’s Civil War weekend—described in great detail in this issue of the paper—such a successful event. The weather was perfect, and many residents turned out for the re-dedication of Harvard’s Civil War memorial, talks with Union soldiers on the Common, and visits with ghosts in the town cemetery. There were no traffic snarls. And save for a periodic volley of period rifles, civility prevailed.
