Longtime Harvard resident, former manager

Edward L. White, 72, of Harvard, formerly of Arlington, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at Parmenter Hospice House in Wayland.
Mr. White was born in Boston on March 11, 1943, a son of Raymond A. and Helen (Manning) White. He resided in Harvard for more than 40 years.
He was a 1960 graduate of Newman School for Boys in Boston and then continued his education at Stonehill College in North Easton, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He later attended Northeastern University in Boston, where he received his master’s degree, also in English.
For three decades, Mr. White worked at Draper Laboratories in Cambridge, retiring in 2005 at the position of configuration manager. He attended Holy Trinity Parish in Harvard.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Virginia I. (Golden) White, and his brother, Robert M. White of Arlington.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Holy Trinity Parish, worshipping at St. Theresa, the Little Flower Church, 15 Still River Road (Route 110), Harvard. Friends and relatives are requested to meet at the church. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
