Let’s talk about crafts
If you would like to organize or attend a class, workshop, or social group centered on a craft, then please join Pete Dumont to discuss the possibilities of using COA support and facilities for that purpose. Whether your interest is knitting, quilting, woodworking, floral design, cake decorating, or any other craft, we’ll gather those with common interests.
Monty Tech open house
The Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School (Monty Tech) is our region’s premier vocational high school and center of continuing education, providing students with skills in 20 different trades. Join us Wednesday, March 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on a tour of its facilities, and meet the professionals who share their expertise with students and our senior community. Lunch, prepared by culinary arts students, is available 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Let’s go to the movies
The COA will host a movie Monday, March 14, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall. Steven Spielberg directs this Cold War drama of a lawyer entrusted with negotiating the exchange of a Soviet spy for an American pilot whose plane was shot down.
Tea with ‘Mrs. Gordon’
Join the COA Wednesday, April 20, at 1 p.m. for tea and cookies. Actress Rita Parisi, portraying Mrs. Gordon, a turn-of-the-century middle-class housewife, will be the hostess and will entertain at this 1908 tea with stories, discussion, and the latest issue of the Ladies Home Journal. The program is supported in part by a grant from the Harvard Cultural Council.
Trip to Paradise City
Seniors will leave Hildreth House at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, to visit Paradise City Marlborough, which is celebrating its 19th year as the area’s leading fair of fine crafts, painting, and sculpture. The $14 fee includes the van ride and admission.
