Thanking those who supported the Good Friday Cross Walk

March 31, 2016

When 60 people safely walk 5.3 miles through two towns on a busy Friday afternoon, it takes the cooperation of many. As part of our Easter tradition, Holy Trinity Parish, familiarly known in Harvard as St. Theresa’s, processes a wooden cross from Harvard to St. Francis Xavier Church in Bolton. Both churches comprise Holy Trinity Parish. This year it was a bit hazardous because the rainy weather made it difficult to be seen and to walk. It poured most of the day, as the morning Great Food Walk participants know. On this, our 10th walk with the cross, we were met by two Bolton police cruisers as we approached the Bolton line, which accompanied us for the remainder of our walk. We are always grateful to them for their enthusiastic and generous support. I would like to express our gratitude to Acting Chief Warren Nelson Jr. and his officers, who promised our safe passage and were there with us for the walk.
