Select Board members voted unanimously Tuesday night to convene a Special Town Meeting in October to consider a variety of warrant articles.
The meeting will be held in Cronin Auditorium Monday, Oct. 28, commencing at 7 p.m.
The Planning Board expects to propose a half-dozen bylaw amendments, some of which ease zoning regulations in the commercial district. Attendees will also be asked to make adjustments to the fiscal 2020 budget enabled by news of an additional $68,000 in revenue from the state.
The deadline for submitting articles for inclusion in the October warrant is Sept. 25; the Select Board needs to close the warrant 14 days before the meeting and will likely do so at its Oct. 8 meeting, according to Executive Assistant Julie Doucet.
“What if there’s a snowstorm?” asked Select Board member Lucy Wallace, perhaps with the 2011 Halloween storm in mind. Her remark was greeted with a chorus of consternation. “Don’t jinx it!” warned board Chair Alice von Loesecke.
