Harvard Scouts ‘Rise Against Hunger’
Harvard’s Senior/Ambassador Girl Scout Troop 30892 will host a meal-packaging event with Rise Against Hunger, a global feeding program that provides meals to school lunch programs/hospitals and to victims of disasters worldwide. Residents are asked to help by donating funds to help purchase the meals. And if you want to be part of the meal-packaging event on Nov. 4, from 1 to 3 p.m., volunteers of all ages are welcome. Flea Market booths still available
There are still a few booth spaces available at the October 7 Flea Market. Be part of one of Harvard’s signature events and sell some of those items that are just taking up space in your attic or basement. Visit harvardfleamarket.com to download the booth reservation form. Proceeds will benefit the work of the event’s organizers: the Harvard Schools Trust and the League of Women Voters of Harvard.
Tsongas to host U.S. service academy and military career forum
Congresswoman Niki Tsongas will host her district’s annual U.S. Service Academy and Military Career Forum Thursday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. at Lowell High School, 50 Father Morissette Boulevard in Lowell. The event will explain opportunities to attend the United States service academies, participate in local university ROTC programs, and serve in the armed forces. Students and their families may speak with representatives of each of these organizations and explore the benefits of military service. Bromfield Celebration is the post-prom substance-free party held each year to keep Bromfield juniors and seniors and their guests safe on what can be a tragic night. It’s fun to create this event and requires help from across our extended community.

Co-organizer needed for TEDx conference
Bromfield senior Jay Woolcock is planning to host a TEDx conference for his senior project. In order to comply with TEDx rules, he needs a local adult co-organizer who has attended an official TED conference. For more information, contact Woolcock at jtwoolcock1109@gmail.com.
HAA basketball registration now open
Registration is now open for the Harvard Athletic Association’s 2017-2018 basketball season. Programs are available for boys and girls in kindergarten through grade 8.

Volunteer opportunities at Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of North Central Massachusetts needs construction volunteers to help with projects in Littleton and Fitchburg. No experience is required; tools and training will be provided. Volunteers are also needed at Habitat’s re-store, its discount home improvement store in Leominster. Another way to help Habitat is to staff an information table at an upcoming event.
