- Monday, June 18. Take me out to the ball game! The Council on Aging is going to LeLacheur Park to watch the Lowell Spinners on opening night. The “Spinners Party Pack” includes box seats behind home plate, a hot dog, ice cream, beverage, game program, and wait service during the game. The group departs at 4:30 p.m. to allow for time for a meal at the Lowell Beer Works or at the stadium. The estimated return time is 10:30 p.m. The cost for the van, tickets, and party pack is $20.
- Monday, July 2. The Tall Ships are coming to Boston to celebrate the U.S. Navy’s exploits in the War of 1812. The Council on Aging will cruise the harbor for a 90-minute narration describing the Tall Ships visiting Boston and other details of the event. The group will have lunch on the waterfront and still have time to visit Quincy Market or just peruse the scenery. This trip leaves the Hildreth House at 8 a.m. and returns by 4 p.m. The cruise costs $45, due upon reservation.
- Wednesday, July 11: The COA will take a scenic ride to the Wright Museum in Wolfeboro, N.H., a unique place that showcases America at war and on the homefront from 1939 through 1945. After the tour, the group is invited to lunch at Peter Warren’s home on Lake Wentworth as well as take a boat tour (weather permitting). The group should be back by 5 p.m. The trip departs Hildreth House at 8 a.m. The cost for van, museum, and lunch is $25. The limit for this trip is 12 people.
