Local students named to college deans’ lists

Nicholas C. Cleary has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at the University of Maryland Baltimore campus (UMBC). Cleary, son of Bob Cleary and Pat Riemitis of Ann Lees Road, is a member of the Class of 2013 and is majoring in biology and education. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Courtney Kenyon of Warren Ave. has been named to the dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire, with honors, for the fall semester of the 2010-2011 academic year. Students named to the dean’s list with honors must maintain a grade-point average of 3.2 to 3.49.

Jamie Ryan of Park Lane, a 2008 Bromfield graduate, has been named to the dean’s list of Quinnipiac University’s College of Arts and Sciences for the fall 2010 semester. Students on the dean’s list must get a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Derrin Jarvis, Class of 2011 at Skidmore College, earned honors for the fall semester. She is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Jarvis of Harvard. Honors are awarded for a grade-point ratio of 3.4 to 3.669.

Two Harvard students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.: Alex Calderwood, a junior majoring in government; and Benjamin Landry, a first-year student. Both students are graduates of the Bromfield School. To be eligible for the dean’s list at St. Lawrence University, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a perfect 4.0 scale) for the semester.
