I had the good fortune to attend the Congregational Church’s first coffeehouse this Saturday and wanted to write to let those of you who weren’t there know what an amazing event it was. For me it was one of those Harvard moments, like the fireworks and Halloween, that make you appreciate what a wonderful, talented, creative bunch of people we live with. The performers ranged in age from a very experienced 11 year-old to a novice 55 year-old (both excellent) with a lot of truly exceptionally talented people in between.
Most of us don’t have the opportunity to see and hear what our young folk are capable of, music-wise, and this was an eye opener. Honestly, any number of those we saw could wind up on our iPods one day. My husband and I were supposed to leave for another event but couldn’t get ourselves to go; you couldn’t wait to see what was coming next! This had to have been the best deal around: cheap food and drink and incredible music all for a small donation. Can’t wait until the next one!
