Once upon a time … I went into my living room to turn on my TV… And to my surprise, I found that I couldn’t get on. It!
Then I looked in my front hall. And there, just inside the door, were three (3) boxes from my TV Company! Three of them! I do not want them but now I have to pay for them.
They are for me to watch TV on when attached to my TV because… when I turn on a TV, there is nothing there! To see. To hear. To watch! Without the boxes. All three of them.
I was told I was digital! I was told to be quiet and go watch my boxes. They were free! (Of course, they are!) Until I receive the bill!
I used to be able to walk into a room and flip a switch. It turned on my TV. And there was a picture with sound. Now, unless I leave a box ON 24 hours a day, I am not able to see and hear anything for an absurd amount of time. And if I leave my TVs on—and by “on” I mean pictureless but still on—my electric bill soars! And when I weaken and turn one on, it takes seven or eight minutes just to come alive. I did not ask for boxes and I don’t understand how they got here.
There was a time when TV was free! The commercials paid for it. Now, we pay to watch the commercials.
