The annual Apple Blossom Festival, Saturday, May 9, brought vendors and shoppers alike to the Common for a day of food, fun, and shopping. Bailey Sawyer of Shirley won the grand prize of dinner for two anywhere in the world. Sawyer’s adopted rubber duck crossed the finish line first in the 25th annual Ducky Wucky River Race May 9, which was sponsored by the Ayer Rotary Club. Sawyer’s duck competed against hundreds of others in this year’s race on the Nashua River. In addition to the grand prize, 26 other prizes were donated by area businesses.
