House Tour offers a stroll through Harvard’s history

Trains traverse painted doors imported from England on the lower level of the former Fiske Warren home, one of eight homes on the Harvard Historical Society’s House Tour Oct. 24.

Luke Pollard Jr. (portrayed by Bob Eiland), far right, speaks about saving his Fairbank Street house in a 1800s fire by putting wet carpets on the roof. Eiland was one of several interpreters who could be found telling stories of their lives on House Tour.
 



Sheila (Gabrielson) Cregar talks to Winnifred Sturdy (portrayed by Carlene Phillips) about the Willard Sturdy house on Woodchuck Hill Road. Cregar grew up in town and remembers skating on the pond next to the house.
