I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a candidate for the Board of Health.
I grew up in Harvard and watched my parents and their friends give their time to town government. I can still see today the difference that they made to the town, and I understand the important role that volunteers play. I moved back to Harvard in 2009 and I feel that it is now my turn to contribute. As a public health professional, I feel serving on the Board of Health is how I can best utilize my experience to the town’s benefit.
I have been fortunate to live and work abroad and have seen how easily public health can be impacted by communicable diseases and environmental threats. I frequently work with people from different cultures and perspectives and am experienced in facilitating teams to work together effectively. As a member of the Board of Health, I would work with other town volunteers to ensure that Harvard residents have access to the best and most up-to-date information on public health risks to our community.
When not working, you can often find me in my 35-tree apple orchard, putting up preserves or pickles, or hiking conservation land. If you’d like to share any thoughts or concerns before the election, feel free to email me at llevison@toast.net.
Thank you for your support.
