On Saturday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, the Harvard Friends of the Arts will present a staged reading of Lux Radio Theatre’s “My Man Godfrey,” a classic screwball comedy of the 1930s. The film version of “My Man Godfrey,” starring William Powell and Carole Lombard, was the first movie ever to receive Oscar nominations in all four acting categories, plus for best director and screenplay.
The radio play is being produced and directed by Bob Eiland. Judy Wong and Bob Jarratt are sound foleys; Joan Eliyesil is music director and sound engineer; Edie Hettinger is choreographer; and Chris Frechette will handle lights and concessions. The cast features Dayle Ballentine in the Lombard role, Eiland in the Powell role, Didi Chadran, Tim Clark, Edie Hettinger, Pamela Kathleen Hill, Richard Steele, and Lynda Vernalia.
