On behalf of the Harvard Public Library staff, I would like to thank the many Harvard residents who joined us this past Saturday for the library’s 10th anniversary celebration. It was a fun afternoon for celebrating and remembering a special time in our town’s recent history when we all came together to support the building of our new library—a library envisioned to be central to our civic well-being as the community’s gathering place. Special thanks go to the Garden Club of Harvard members who created glorious floral arrangements for the celebration; to Lions Club members Nat Beale and Mark Cooper, who poured the champagne; to teen volunteers Charlotte Durham and Courtney Flokos, who helped with children’s activities; and to former Library Trust chairwoman Ginger Kendall and current Library Trustee Davida Bagatelle for their help in coordinating the event. Finally, a special thank you to Pete Jackson, who was the Library Building Committee’s co-chairman and has been the vigilant guiding hand these past 10 years, seeing that all systems run smoothly, ensuring the sustained success of the building we celebrate. Thank you one and all!
Mary Wilson, director
