Explore the unique treasures located within the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area in a fun-filled, regional celebration beginning Monday, May 1 and ending Wednesday, May 31. Experience the unique natural, historical and cultural “treasures” within 45 communities during the month-long Hidden Treasures 2017. Enjoy historical tours, guided walks and special collections and exhibits that connect you to the heritage, history and landscapes that make up the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area.
Freedom’s Way, building on the success of the prior two years, is partnering with more than 80 lead organizations offering over 100 events, guaranteeing the 2017 region-wide event has something for everyone. All programs are free with activities centered on an individual object, document, public monument, building or landscape, highlighting exciting and unexpected stories about their past. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about a “treasure” hiding in plain sight!
Apple festival to orchard walk, historic building to dairy farm tour, family hikes to artifact exhibits, each treasure has been carefully selected for inclusion in this program. Guided walks, workshops and open houses are just some of the ways each treasure’s story will be revealed.
