Police made five motor vehicle stops during the past week, four ending with verbal warnings and one with a written warning or citation. Officers assisted two motorists with disabled vehicles and responded to three medical emergencies, with two people being taken to hospitals, one with Advanced Life Support on board. Police also issued or renewed four firearms licenses. And no Harvardians locked themselves out of their cars this week.
Tuesday, Jan. 29
Someone came to the police station at 10:23 a.m. to report two deer carcasses on Littleton County Road, apparently left by poachers. Harvard reported the case to the Massachusetts Environmental Police. At 12:19 p.m. police got a call from the Bromfield School asking for help identifying the owner of a car parked in another person’s space there. At 1:13 p.m. a Still River Road resident called when the burglar alarm went off. Police checked outside the house but found no one. A resident near the Holy Hill conservation area called police at 8:06 p.m. to say an unusual number of cars were parked there, but the cars were gone when police arrived. At 11:49 p.m. a 911 caller reported that two cars had collided on Ayer Road. One car had crossed the median line, striking the other head on. The driver of the first car was cited for a lane violation.

Thursday, Jan. 31
At 1:03 p.m. a caller reported a vehicle crash on Route 2 eastbound. State police had jurisdiction over the crash, but the Harvard Fire Department and Ambulance Service responded, with the ambulance taking a person to the hospital. A vehicle parked on a side road aroused the suspicions of a Prospect Hill Road resident, who called police at 6:25 p.m. But the vehicle was gone when an officer arrived. At 7 p.m. a caller said a horse in a field near Depot Road should really have a blanket; police notified the owner.
Friday, Feb. 1
At 4:37 p.m. a resident came to the station to report that some money had been stolen from the family’s Cape Cod vacation home. The case is under investigation.
Saturday, Feb. 2
Townsend police called at 2:15 p.m. to talk with Harvard officers about the possible theft of a credit card. A Warren Avenue resident called police about a car illegally parked on conservation land at Thurston’s beach.
Sunday, Feb. 3
Nothing of significance to report.
Monday, Feb. 4
A Still River Road resident called at 11:07 a.m. to complain that a neighbor had pushed snow across the roadway. Police spoke to the neighbor.
