Police made 11 traffic stops this week that resulted in 10 verbal warnings and one citation. The ambulance crew responded to three medical emergencies and transported two people to the hospital, both with Advanced Life Support on board.
Tuesday, March 19
An officer encountered suspicious activity in a vehicle parked at the Prospect Hill Road overlook at 12:43 a.m. The two occupants in the vehicle were sent on their way. At 11:39 a.m. a caller reported a brown, black, and white St. Bernard running loose in the vicinity of Bowers Brook apartments on Ayer Road. Animal control was notified. A caller reported being nearly struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the center of town at 12:03 p.m. Police checked the area and could find no one who could corroborate the story. The person who reported the incident had left the scene and did not return Harvard police officers’ phone calls for more information. At 4:05 p.m. a resident walked into the police station to register as a sex offender.
Wednesday, March 20
A caller reported a vehicle parked on the side of Stow Road at 7:01 a.m. Police investigated and found that the vehicle had crashed into a nearby tree sometime prior to the call. The driver was asleep in the back seat. Police charged Cyrinus Morris of Dracut with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. The vehicle was towed; an officer transported Morris to the police station so he could wait there for a ride. At 1:40 p.m. a Still River Road resident reported an incident of larceny, forgery, or fraud; two minutes later a resident that lived only a few houses from the first caller made a similar report. No further information was available. A Bolton Road resident reported hearing a garage door slam and thought she saw a shadow near the door. The officer who responded said the sound was caused by an unsecured garage door blowing in the wind.

A resident reported an incident of identity fraud at the police station at 11:29 a.m.
Friday, March 22
At 11:41 a.m. an Ann Lees Road resident reported receiving threatening messages on Instagram that his house would be broken into. Officers continue to check on the residence. At 8:22 p.m. a West Bare Hill Road caller said he thought someone was in his barn. The responding officer searched the barn but found no one.
Saturday, March 23
A caller reported seeing a damaged signboard on Mass. Ave. at 6:53 a.m. The sign belonged to the General Store, and an officer moved it to the store’s parking lot. At 11:56 p.m. a caller reported a big, fluffy, white dog with an electric fence collar running loose and told police where the dog lived. The dog had returned home by the time police arrived.

Monday, March 25
During the week, police responded to several calls related to a resident with an alcohol or substance abuse problem. At 11:39 a.m. police arrested the resident on an apprehension warrant and transported him to Clinton District Court for a hearing.
