At 6:34 p.m. state police called for assistance with a rollover on Route 2 eastbound. Firefighters and ambulance personnel from both Harvard and Littleton responded.
Wednesday, Aug. 18
At 7:40 p.m. a Warren Avenue resident called 911 about the smell of burning plastic in the garage. Firefighters were at a training session when the call came in, so the whole group responded, with Engines 1, 2, and 4, as well as the tower truck. They searched the building but found no fire, and the burning smell faded away.
Thursday, Aug. 19
At 9:34 a.m. firefighters and the Ambulance Service were dispatched when a 911 caller reported a one-car crash on Route 2 westbound in which a person had been injured. At 10:36 a.m. the dispatcher received a call about a crash on Route 2 eastbound, but firefighters searched the area and found nothing.
Friday, Aug. 20
At 12:40 p.m. a carbon monoxide detector went off at a residence on Madigan Lane when power came back on after an outage; a fire officer investigated and found nothing amiss. At 2:30 p.m., however, another CO detector went off, this time on Mettacomet Path. A crew responded in Engine 1 and found carbon monoxide from a generator, so the crew ventilated the house. At 4:09 p.m. state police called for assistance with a two-car collision on Route 2 westbound; the ambulance took one person to Leominster Hospital.
Sunday, Aug. 22
At 9:44 a.m., during heavy rain, firefighters responded to the report of a crash on Route 2 eastbound at a location—around mile marker 112—that is often problematic in bad weather, according to a Fire Department spokesperson
