Jonathan “Jon” A. Manell, 39, of Marlborough, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at Mass General Hospital in Boston.

He was the son of Thomas F. and Marlene R. Manell and the loving husband of Deirdre Manell. They were together for 17 years and married for the last seven of those years.

Besides his wife and parents, Jon was a loving father to his two sons, Dylan and Tyler. He is also survived by his sister Jen Manell and her husband, Cole Bailey, and their three children, Harrison, Norah, and Rosalind, along with loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jonathan was a graduate of Marlborough High School and Dean College. Growing up and as a teenager he had a passion for flying. He worked at Marlborough Airport and studied aviation. Along with flying he enjoyed playing his trumpet in many ensembles during middle school, high school, and continuing into his adult life.

As an adult, Jonathan had many hobbies, including remote control cars and airplanes, rebuilding Jeeps, and sailing or kayaking with his children. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Visiting hours were held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at the Slattery Funeral Home,  40 Pleasant Steet in Marlborough. Private services for Jon will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for Jonathan’s Children has been set up through Main Street Bank.
