The ill effects of rising taxes on Harvard’s rural community

April 25, 2025

I urge voters to consider the ill effects that Harvard’s rapidly increasing taxes have on the rural nature of the town. It is becoming difficult to maintain farms in this environment. We are asked to consider a bylaw to preserve trees, while the verdant land around them is imperiled. We are asked to approve a tax override that ignores our rural sensibilities and increases the perils.
