Vote for Eric Ward for Select Board

September 12, 2025

As someone who has worked closely with Eric Ward on the Capital Planning and Investment Committee and several Bromfield theater projects, I can confidently say he is exactly the kind of person Harvard needs on the Select Board.

When I worked with Eric on the Capital Planning and Investment Committee, his attention to detail and thoughtful consideration helped the committee manage the millions of dollars in requests that come in each year. Every meeting, it was clear he had done his homework and thoroughly analyzed the problems being presented to us.

I’ve also worked with Eric building sets for the Bromfield theater department where he consistently demonstrated the leadership skills this town needs. He coordinated volunteers, managed complex timelines between rehearsals and material purchasing, and showed his commitment to the community by working long hours on nights and weekends.

Eric spent five years on the town Finance Committee, including time as chair. During that time, Eric helped guide that committee to thoughtful and responsible use of our town’s tax money, while ensuring the town continued to serve its residents effectively. Perhaps most importantly, when Eric identified a potential conflict of interest in budget decisions last year, he demonstrated exceptional ethical leadership by voluntarily stepping down from the Finance Committee.

Eric grew up in Harvard and left for college after graduating from Bromfield. He returned to Harvard 10 years ago to raise his family here. He knows exactly how Harvard has changed over the years. Eric knows what Harvard’s rural character means to its residents, and understands that maintaining it requires long-term vision and gentle guidance. But he also understands that our taxes grow ever higher, and tackling that problem goes beyond just budget analysis.

Harvard needs leaders who combine financial expertise, community dedication, and unquestionable integrity. Eric Ward embodies all three.

Please join me in voting for Eric Ward for Select Board Oct. 8.
