On Friday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, the Warner Free Lecture Series trustees will present award-winning cinematographer Brian Dowley and a screening of his documentary “Charlotte: A Wooden Boat Story.” Filmed over a period of three years, the film chronicles the hand-construction of Charlotte, a 50-foot gaff-rigged wooden schooner, and sees the boat emerge from stacks of lumber and wood shavings. A brief conversation about the making of the film, sailing, and boatbuilding will follow the screening.
