Mary Helan Turner of Littleton County Road will appear in the Concord Players’ “Around the World in 80 Days,” opening Nov. 4 and playing weekends through Nov. 19. In this hilarious—and fairly faithful—retelling of Jules Verne’s adventure story, six actors play 36 roles as Phileas Fogg rushes through danger, romance, and a variety of transportation modes in his bid to win a £20,000 wager by circling the globe in 1872.
Turner plays the intrepid American journalist Nellie Bly, an Indian widow about to be burned alive, a Parsi priest, an Egyptian servant, and others. The play is written by Mark Brown, directed by Teddy Crecelius, and produced by Paula McNabb.
