After attending Monday night’s candidates’ debate, I’ve decided to support Deb Thomson in the upcoming race for selectman. Deb served as the liaison to Hildreth House from the Community Preservation Committee and demonstrated a wide-ranging knowledge and understanding of the needs of Harvard’s elder citizens, including support for Hildreth House’s restoration. As an attorney with a special focus on the needs of older Massachusetts residents, she has developed good working relationships with the statewide Mass Councils on Aging that support funding of local COAs. I’ve no doubt that Deb will bring the same understanding of state and local governance to all matters that come before the town. We’re lucky to have her expertise, and I urge you to join me in voting for Deb.
