‘Law-abiding critters’ are welcome

February 14, 2014

I just had to chuckle as I read last week’s police report in the Harvard Press about someone calling the police because a raccoon was wandering through their yard. Let’s see, in the yard and neighborhood here this winter we have had deer (usually 3-5 at a time), a raccoon, an opossum, a fox, a fisher, coyotes (usually a family group of four or more animals) the usual cast of characters (birds and squirrels), and last spring we had a young black bear wander through. I am happy to report that all the “wild” life were completely law-abiding critters and we saw no reason bothering the Harvard Police. The critters were all welcome.
