Coffin and Dickson publish ‘Tails of Rescue’

July 5, 2013

Recently published, “Tails of Rescue” is the true account of Lynne (Fermanian) Coffin’s experience owning and operating an animal shelter for over twenty years on St. Martin in the Caribbean. The book retells real-life rescues, adoptions, heartaches, and a hurricane in story form, with many photos, as told to writer Julie A. (Culverhouse) Dickson.

Dickson and Coffin, both Bromfield School graduates, became great friends as they shared a passion for the well-being of animals. Coffin, an animal trainer and caregiver, lives in Massachusetts with her four rescued cats from St. Martin, as well as Gibbs, a rescued, smooth-coat border collie from Tennessee.

Dickson lives in New Hampshire with her family and Isis, her rescued cat. An avid writer and poet, she is an active member in the Poetry Society of N.H. and has been published in “The Poet’s Touchstone,” “Avocet Nature Journal,” “Page & Spine,” and “The Harvard Press.”
