Fundraising motorcyclists to cap their ‘Slow Ride’ with Devens party

September 21, 2012

Motorcyclists starting from four different locations in New England will converge in Devens tomorrow to celebrate a fundraising ride with the classic rock band Foghat and, according to organizers, Red Sox legends.

The Ride for Our Heroes, in honor of American service members, veterans, and their families, is a fundraiser for the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. Participants will begin at either Salisbury, Mass., Manchester, N.H., Bristol, N.H., or Pawtucket, R.I., and proceed together in two-by-two formation to Fort Devens, where the party will begin around 1 p.m.

Foghat’s hits include “Slow Ride” and “Fool for the City.”

Online registration for the ride is now closed, but participants may register at a starting location for $50 or $60 for a rider with a passenger. Those who just want to attend to party may purchase tickets there for $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 12; children under three are free.
