Sobalvarro’s knowledge and experience a bonus for the town

November 27, 2009

I met Marie Sobalvarro at a coffee a few weeks ago and was impressed with her detailed answers to all of my questions, ranging from library funding to Devens. Since moving to town this year, I have been following the campaign for Board of Selectmen, both in the press and in conversations with others in town. As a newcomer, I have come to see her as part of what makes this town great—I’ve felt welcomed, supported, informed, and now involved. It’s this type of energy that Marie brings to every gathering.

Based on her years of experience, Marie already has a wide and deep knowledge of the people, processes, and financials that, taken together, make the town work—and by virtue of that experience, she also knows how to make it all work better. As a mom, I know that Marie not only “gets” the importance of the schools, but also as a lawyer, I can see clearly that she understands how to negotiate and work effectively with others. Her work experience, as someone who has negotiated with hospitals and insurers, and her knowledge of health insurance, are an added bonus for our town.

I encourage voters to vote for Marie on Dec. 8, so that we can have that energy, knowledge and outlook on our Board of Selectmen.
