Colleen Harwood, of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC), presented a grant for $1,500 to the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden on Sept. 18. She was one of three HPHC employees who each applied for a $500 grant from the company, to be combined o benefit the Just ’Cause Walk, an annual walk that raises money for the Healing Garden and the Gillette Center for Breast Cancer. Just ’Cause donated the grant to the Healing Garden to support a program led by Licensed Social Worker Fran Booth, “Recovery and Resilience for the Cancer Journey,” which uses imagery, journals, nature, and connection with others to help breast cancer survivors develop strategies for enhancing their resilience and recovery.
