Here’s to dedicated EMTs

January 4, 2008

Recently I was in a frightening horseback-riding accident. I was bucked off of a horse. The ambulance was called to the scene. Immediately the ambulance drove into the indoor riding ring. At least 10 EMTs came. The funny fact is that I knew at least five of them, and two of them taught me how to swim.

I was afraid, but an EMT came running to me telling me it was going to be OK. Then they carefully put me into the ambulance and drove steadily to Emerson Hospital. Luckily I was all right, with only serious bruising.

This professional ambulance squad is trained to help us in everyday emergencies. They are not paid and they dedicate most (if not all) of their free time to help people in need of serious attention. We are very fortunate to have them.

I’d like to give a shout out and express a large thank you to my very brave ambulance team.
