If only we could see the world through someone else’s eyes—across generations, faiths, and life experiences. This fall, our community has two special opportunities to do just that, as we come together with Arm In Arm to listen, learn, and connect.
First, join us for an evening with author Autumn Allen (see last week’s Press article), whose novel “All You Have To Do” brings to life the hopes, frustrations, and courage of two young Black men—one in the 1960s and one in the 1990s—as they navigate questions that still resonate today. With the help of the Warner Free Lecture, Harvard Schools Trust, and the Harvard Public Library, we’re thrilled to welcome Autumn Allen to Volunteers Hall on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. You don’t need to have read the book to enjoy the evening, but copies are available at the Harvard Public Library and Silver Unicorn Books in West Acton and will also be on sale at the event. A few days later, on Sunday, Nov. 2. from 12–4 p.m., we’ll continue with an interfaith visit to a mosque and a synagogue. Together, we can learn, connect, and deepen our understanding across faiths. We’ll carpool from the Bromfield School parking lot, enjoy snacks, and share conversations that remind us how much more we have in common than what sets us apart.
