Mourning loss of ‘Mayor of Shaker Hills’

March 28, 2014

There is no resident in our neighborhood—two- or four-legged—who will not mourn the loss of the Mayor of Shaker Hills. Everyone knew him by name. If not, he would be the first to introduce himself. He was large in size, but his one floppy ear made him a gentle giant. If you were on a walk, he would bound out of the house or off his brick porch to join you. He had daily visits to the homes where he knew a treat would be waiting for him. If family pictures were being taken outdoors, he would become part of that photo. Your breed didn’t matter, he was a buddy. If a cat came across his path, the Mayor of Shaker Hills knew his submissive place. “It’s a dog’s life” never had a better meaning when it came to his. Shaker Hills will not be the same without everyone’s Yeti.
