Graduation

June 13, 2014

As we congratulate the class of 2014 and wish Harvard’s sons and daughters well, we’d also like to acknowledge the “graduation” of two members of the Press newsroom. Greg Maynard graduated from Fitchburg State University in May after spending six months with the Press as an intern. Greg helped us revive a weekly roundup of Bromfield sports results and through his features and game reports expanded our coverage of high school athletics. Verity Sayles came to the Press this spring looking for an opportunity to write while she waited to hear from the several graduate programs to which she had applied. Her profiles of Harvard townsfolk and reports on cultural events were welcome additions to the paper. Verity, a native of Bolton, is headed to Oregon State University to begin a two-year master’s program in non-fiction writing. We will miss Greg and Verity’s enthusiasm and youthful energy and wish them well as they pursue their passion for writing.
