My wife Kathryn (now deceased) and I moved to Harvard in 2012, just about the time Scott was opening the General Store. Every Saturday we would sit at the table just under the stairs—I always had banana pancakes and Kay would order the guacamole toast. Scott came over for a weekly catch up.
One Saturday Kay suggested putting an egg on her guacamole toast—it was delicious. She named it The California Sunrise, which Scott shortened to the Cali Sunrise, an item on the menu today.
This is just one of the personal stories that complement the many meetings I have had at the General Store as well as the conversation with Scott and his exemplary staff. Sometimes I just go there to go there.
