…and to all who contributed to the Lions Volksfest’s success

September 22, 2016

On behalf of the charities we serve, the Harvard Lions Club would like to thank everyone who came to our Harvard Lions Volksfest. The inaugural Volksfest was met with overwhelming attendance and enthusiasm. The Bed Race was a grand time with teams competing for the handmade trophies while German delicacies of bratwurst and chicken schnitzel sold more like hotcakes. The Biergarten was replete with an abundant array of beer on tap and fine wine choices. The bands were right on with their music and added to the festivities, and the crafters and vendors expressed their gratitude for a great event. Thirty stuffed animals from the teddy bear parade will be given new homes.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day or more support from our town. Looking forward to our second annual Volksfest, we now know to have more food on hand, beer on tap, and clever ways to shorten the lines for both. We look forward to providing everyone with an even better event next year and hope you will plan to be there. In the words of Chef Paul, “Holy Guacamole, what a way to start a new tradition in town!”
