In this week’s paper, we bid goodbye to Lorraine Leonard, who has been Harvard’s finance director since 2004 (see story). We join her colleagues in Town Hall, the schools, and the appointed and elected boards that she has supported in wishing her a joyful retirement.
We have especially appreciated her willingness to explain difficult financial concepts to us in plain English, often on short notice, as well as her ability to find and make available the financial information we needed to complete our reporting of stories. We could count on her timely response to questions, always a blessing to reporters on deadline.
Thanks for everything, Lorraine. We’ll miss you.
